Scientist Lab Technician Assay Development (f/m/d) – BMA / biostatistics/German / biosafety level 2/ GMP
Project:
We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist Lab Technician for Assay Development on behalf of our client, Roche Diagnostics International AG, located in Rotkreuz.
Background:
The Assay Development team focuses on creating molecular diagnostic and screening tests using PCR technology, primarily in the fields of infectious diseases, genomics, and oncology. Responsibilities span from initial prototyping to commercial launch, encompassing assay design, method development, manufacturing, verification/validation, and regulatory compliance. Collaboration with various departments is crucial to meet patient needs effectively.
The ideal candidate holds a degree as a Biomedical Analyst Scientist (BMA HF), has completed an apprenticeship as a Lab Technician (in Biology, Medical Diagnostics, or Chemistry), or possesses a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Life Sciences. They should have a minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience, ideally in molecular biology/PCR, with proficiency in data analysis and biostatistics. Strong MS Office skills, fluency in English, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude are essential.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Conducting experiments using high-throughput lab analyzers.
• Performing routine lab work with infectious samples and leading independent experiments, including analysis.
• Planning and executing work packages for molecular diagnostics test development.
• Participating in project meetings and presenting experimental data.
• Documenting experiments meticulously in electronic lab journals according to GMP standards.
• Handling and maintaining equipment.
• Performing statistical data analysis using various software/tools (e.g., JMP).
• Authoring official documents such as Design History Files.
Must Haves:
• Degree as Biomedical Analyst Scientist (BMA HF), Lab Technician apprenticeship (Biology, Medical Diagnostics, Chemistry), or Bachelor's/Master's degree in Life Sciences with lab experience – no PhD required.
• Minimum 2 years of lab experience with data analysis and biostatistics.
• Strong MS Office and documentation skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Open-mindedness and ability to work well in a team.
• Proactive mindset, organized working style, flexibility, and strategic thinking.
Nice to Have:
• Laboratory experience in a biotechnical environment, including handling infectious samples at Biosafety Level 2.
• Experience in a GMP/GLP environment.
• Proficiency in German.
