About the Role:
As a Senior Nurse (General) at a Barchester care home, you’ll be a vital part of the team, utilizing your leadership skills to ensure our residents receive the high-quality care we're known for. Your role will involve hands-on clinical leadership, creating a safe and supportive environment for residents with various mental and physical needs. You'll exercise professional judgment to make critical clinical decisions, from assessing new residents' needs to implementing safeguarding policies and administering medicines in line with NMC regulations. Supporting and mentoring your team will be essential, ensuring they have the clinical training required to deliver the highest standards of nursing care. In this role, you'll have the autonomy to do things the right way, be valued, and respected for your contributions.
About You:
To be successful as a Senior Nurse (General), you'll need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration and a mentoring or supervision qualification. Experience in producing care plans and detailed risk assessments is important, as is an up-to-date knowledge of the most recent clinical practices. Understanding regulatory frameworks, including DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines, is crucial. As a natural leader and problem solver, you'll have previous experience working with older people and acting as a clinical mentor, supporting newly qualified nurses through their preceptorship.
